  • Read Peace Child by Don Richardson, the story of Don and Carol Richardson, missionaries to what is now Irian Jaya
  • Read Beyond the Next Mountain by Mawii Pudaite, the story of Rochunga Pudaite, native of India, who translated the Bible into the Hmar language
  • Read C.T. Studd by Norman Grubb, the story of C.T. Studd, missionary to China, India, and Africa
  • Read The Triumph of John and Betty Stam by Geraldine Taylor, the story of John and Betty Stam, missionaries to China
  • Read Give Up Your Small Ambitions by Michael Griffiths, a book that assumes that we have given up our “small ambitions” and are pressing toward the mark of the great ambition: the “high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
  • Read Flagellant on Horseback by Richard Ellsworth Day, the story of David Brainerd, missionary to United States Indians in early colonial days

In this fifth of six PACEs, students learn:

  • The culture in northwest and southeast China
  • The Stams’ commitment to Christ and their philosophy of ministry
  • How God used the lives of John and Betty Stam
  • Two major kinds of missionaries
  • Several characteristics of missionaries
  • The work of a missionary
  • To write an essay or complete a project on missionaries

By studying various missionaries, their challenges and their missions fields, students are challenged to see God’s hand in missions throughout the world.

The Introduction to Missions course is a series of six independent study, mastery-based units of instruction, and includes direct instruction to the student as well as all necessary quizzes and tests.

Self-Instructed Program--No Lesson Plan Required!

The ACE curriculum program is one of the most easily administered programs available to homeschooling parents. The program is self-instructional for the student, and requires almost no preparation time on the part of the parent. Instead, the primary job of the parent is supervising, motivating, and grading the tests completed by the student. There are no lesson plans to prepare with this program!

Lessons with Biblical Values

Integrated into each course are Biblical truths and character-building principles that provide the Christian homeschooling student with a strong grounding in the Bible. A non-denominational program, ACE avoids specific doctrines and instead focuses on the truths evident in Scripture. Students are challenged to be honest, to have integrity, to encourage one another, to respond with respect, and much more.

Each Accelerated Christian Education text is broken down into 12 colorful workbook-style units of study that are presented with a mastery approach. Therefore, students not only receive initial instruction but review each skill and/or principle several times to ensure mastery and retention.
